Biography Wayne Jefferies and John Coulson have played on the Nottingham jazz scene for over 20 years, including almost 15 years as two thirds of the locally renowned Hot Club trio.
As the backbone of Swingologie, we hope to carry on the Hot Club tradition of hard, swinging Gypsy/Jazz based music, which will lean more towards jazz than gypsy.
It's important for us to make a clear distinction from the band that was the Hot Club, and we will be playing no traditional gypsy music, or Bal-Musette waltzes.
We will continue to play a mixture of Django Reinhardt music, Jazz standards, some Latin jazz, and we will be edging the overall style towards a more modern boppy style, and will be experimenting with some different line-ups. (read less)
