Höfner "Alfred Stingl"
Höfner have been producing fine handmade orchestral stringed instruments in Germany since 1887. They have built a reputation for exceptional quality and traditional methods, and now they have extended their range to include the student player.
This instrument has a solid carved spruce top, solid maple back and sides, golden-brown finish, ebony fittings, maple bridge, finetuner tailpiece and polished steel strings. This above-average beginner's outfit comes with a round brazilwood bow with rosewood frog and a lightweight rigid case with canvas cover.
The Alfred Stingl range is produced to German specifications in the far east, and offers a level of fittings and finish not usually found in this price range. Using solid tonewoods throughout, and with genuine ebony pegs and fingerboard the "Alfred Stingl", (though a budget instrument), has been designed and manufactured to exacting standards, and may still be suitable up to grade 4.
