Martin 000 Vintage Custom Shop
This guitar is a ‘bespoke’ vintage reproduction, featuring many of the appointments of the Eric Clapton signature, but with modified top bracing and a low profile neck for easy playability. The top braces are ¼” width rather than the usual 5/16”, which are lighter weight, and hence make the top more responsive. They are also scalloped, to improve the volume and touch sensitivity even further; this is a really loud 000! The low profile neck is finished in satin, making it much easier and slicker to play than the full gloss vintage neck of the standard guitar. As a really easy to play and great sounding small bodied Martin, this rivals the OM42, but with tasteful vintage appointments.

Martin HD28 V Non Vee Custom Shop
The Martin HD28 V is one of the gems in the Martin range. It has vintage style appointments, such as small slotted square inlays, grained ivoroid binding, open gear tuners and, critically, Forward Shifted, Scalloped 5/16” X bracing. This special bracing is copied from vintage Martins, and allows the top to resonate more freely. The standard HD28V, has a large ‘Vee’ profile neck, which many players find cumbersome. This custom shop version has a modern neck and bridge, making it more accessible to today's players. This great guitar is internally signed by Chris Martin IV and comes in a vintage style 500 series case.

Martin D28 Deluxe Custom Shop Last available in the UK
The D28 Deluxe features various ‘players upgrades’ to the venerable D28. The main difference is the ¼”, instead of 5/16” top bracing. This lighter weight of bracing allows for a more open and louder tone. The braces are also ‘super scalloped’, this makes the guitar incredibly responsive; it is probably the loudest Martin we have ever had in stock. This guitar has upgraded wood specs, and is hand built in the Martin custom shop by their most experienced craftsmen, and internally signed by Chris Martin himself. The neck is carved from Honduran Mahogany, whereas the standard model is listed as ‘Select Hardwoods’, which is Spanish Cedar, a Mahogany family tree. The neck has the ‘Low Profile’ neck carve, meaning it’s incredibly easy to play. Cosmetically, this guitar is topped off with vintage style open gear tuners, and a bevelled and polished pickguard, in a ‘vintage colour correct’ 600 series case.

Honduran Mahogany is in short supply, these guitars won’t be around long!

Martin J40
The Martin J40 is our most popular style 40 and above Martin guitar. It is an exceptionally
versatile instrument, the jumbo body shape affords the power and volume of a dreadnought,
with the balanced and nuanced sound of an OM. The J40 is the first guitar in the
Martin line to feature the long logo on the headstock, inlaid in solid green abalone
shell, with style 40 hexagons also in solid green abalone. Martin are one of very
few manufacturers who use solid, large pieces of abalone, rather than laminated abalone
shell, or synthetic substitutes. This gives the inlay work a real '3-

Martin OMM John Renbourn
The Martin OMM John Renbourn signature represents a culmination of John’s ultimate guitar needs. The OMM project began as a conversation between John Rebourn and Martin’s Artist Relations/VP Dick Boak, who outlined the specifications for this stellar fingerstyle guitar. A 14 fret OM body, with a Slotted headstock formed the basic outline, with choice of rare Italian Alpine Spruce, with a Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. These are some of the most sought after tonewoods available, and rarely seen in combination on a production guitar. The Italian Spruce is the same species as used by Stradivarius, which gives a very rich, loud and harmonically detailed tone, which is more refined than the ‘Country’ tone of the more traditional Adirondack Spruce. Madagascar Rosewood is the choice substitute for Brazilian, which is harder than East Indian Rosewood, and resonates with more harmonic content; it’s also visually stunning. The Pyramid bridge is lighter in weight than a traditional belly bridge and therefore allows the top to resonate more freely. The neck is carved to suit Johns’ needs, a comfortable and supportive C profile, which is substantial enough to produce good tone, whilst being very easy to play. The slotted peghead creates a greater breakover angle on the nut, which gives a stronger tone. The black ebony fingerboard has tasteful ‘Pentangle’ pentagon inlays, in Mother of Pearl, while the headplate has a Unicorn in Abalone. Internally, the guitar has a Martin Custom Shop Paper Label, which is numbered and signed by John Renbourn himself. This is a truly special guitar, and the only example in the UK. SOLD

Martin HD 35 The HD 35 builds on the success of the D35, by taking the ¼’’ top braces, and then scalloping them. This produces a very free moving top, in the words of the Martin Clinician Diane Ponzio on her visit here, the top has been ‘turbo charged. This really allows the guitar to sing out, with less effort from the player, making the HD 35 a popular guitar with those who want the Martin tone, without the slight ‘tightness’ of a style 28. Visually, the HD 35 gains the Herringbone top border of the HD 28, adding to the appeal of this stunning guitar. £2655.00 £CALL |

Martin D35 The D35 is the very meaning of the term ‘happy accident’ in guitar building terms, a happy accident turned up to 11. During the late 60’s, when the now unavailable Brazilian rosewood was in short supply for production guitars, there were a large amount of 6” off cuts which could be jointed together to produce the trademark ‘3 piece’ back, seen on all style 35 Martins. The stiffer back prompted a redesign of the top braces, so the same X pattern was employed as on style 28, but with the narrower ¼’’ width of brace material. This gives style 35 guitars a slightly more ‘open’ sound than their style 28 counterparts. £2247.00 £CALL |

Martin D28 The Martin D28 is the standard by which all other acoustics are judged, and has held a firm grasp on this position since its introduction 75 years ago. This guitar is the staple Martin dreadnought, featuring Standard Series construction, Alaskan Sitka Spruce, East Indian Rosewood, African Black Ebony, and other select Hardwoods. It has the classic 5/16” X braces, Nitrocellulose lacquer and many other features, which give this guitar its strong, solid, clear and powerful sound. There have been many imitators of this guitar, but none have ever toppled it. When you hear one, you’ll be as sure as we are it’s the Daddy, and here to stay. £2146.00 £CALL |

Martin 000 28 The 000 28 is the smaller bodied, shorter scale variant of the most famous acoustic guitar in the world, the venerable Martin D28. Martin HD 28 For the discerning customer, looking for the many features of the D28 but a more dynamic voice, Martin has the HD 28. This guitar has the ‘Herringbone’ inlay, as seen on pre WW2 Martins, and crucially, 5/16” Scalloped top braces. Martins’ most highly skilled craftsmen carry out the scalloping process, as this is what creates the voice of the guitar. Select brace material is removed, to give a lighter, freer moving top, which responds more immediately to input from the player. One of our most popular standard series models, the HD 28 strikes the perfect balance between old and new. |
