The PRS Angelus Cutaway features an unusual amount of volume, bass and has a balance not typical of acoustic cutaway models. Though well suited for finger style players, this model is versatile enough for many kinds of music.

Paul Reed Smith has created a reputation exceeded only by the quality of his guitars. Initially a repairman turned luthier for Carlos Santana, Paul is still at the cutting edge of electric guitar design and production, recruiting experts such as Ted McCarty, Production Manager during Gibson's heyday period to create a line of electric guitars which have set new benchmarks in quality and tone, now regarded as the industry standard.
Paul has a very unique view on guitar design, he builds instruments using mathematical analysis along with intensive listening tests, to push the sonic limits of each component. He pays great homage to the violin maker Antino Stradivari, in terms of his construction techniques and wood choices, culminating in the hand built Paul's 28 Electric guitar featuring the same woods as Stradivarius in the guitar, creating an electric instrument with a natural quality of tone like no other.
At this point, Paul begins to broaden his horizon, by bringing a revolution to the Acoustic guitar. Paul's highly exclusive line of hand built acoustic instruments have many new features proprietary to PRS. The top braces are a hybrid of those seen on Antino De Torres Spanish classical guitars, hybrided with the classic CF Martin DOMLE forward shifted X brace, to withstand the tension of steel strings. The back braces are made of Mahogany rather than the usual spruce, although the top owes itself to Martin tradition, being made of Englemann or Adirondack spruce, combined with Adirondack spruce braces. The finish is a shatter hard Nitrocellulose lacquer, and the tuners are hand machined in the UK from a bronze alloy by Keith Robson. The pickup system is unique and proprietary to PRS, featuring an active lateral g compensating Piezo transducer. They also feature necks reinforced with Carbon fibre rods to provide the ultimate in stiffness and stability, whilst ensuring a great transfer of tone. The guitars have either quilted Mahogany or figured Cocobolo backs, combined with the aforementioned tops, with Peruvian mahogany necks and Cocobolo fingerboards. To protect this handmade investment, top class Ameritage hard cases are employed. You owe it to yourself to hear them!
